Bruce Pauley, a native of Lincoln, a graduate of UNL, and a Visiting Professor in the Department of History, has selected 41 photographs, with the assistance of his wife, Marianne, to display in Love Library during September and October. The pictures were culled from a collection of more than 7,000 slides he has taken during 22 trips to Europe and the Near East between 1954 and 2005. The photos, which feature historic buildings, cityscapes, and landscapes, tell the story of Western Civilization from ancient times to the present. During his forty-two years as a professor he has used his slides to illustrate courses in European history at the University of Wyoming and at the University of Central Florida.
