SUMMARY:Opera: Così fan Tutte
DESCRIPTION:Given enough temptation, would all women cheat? That's the que
stion asked in Mozart's great comic opera. The answer? Così fan tutte-Al
l women are like that. And why are women like that? Because men are like
that, too!\n\nIn 12 miraculously sunny arias balanced by 18 ensembles of
heart-melting beauty, Mozart explores a world of love, trust, and manipul
ation. \n\nThe story is silly and serious: \n\nTwo young men, boastfully
confident of how faithful their fiancées are, accept a wager to test the
women's fidelity: each will disguise himself-as Albanians!-and try to se
duce the other man's lover. At first, the women show the resistance expe
cted of them, and it's all very amusing. But subtly and gradually, thing
s begin to change. Whoever wins the wager, can the lives of these lovers
ever be the same again? \n\nTickets: General admission $20, students and
seniors $10 and will be available through the Lied Center box office at
 402/472-4747 or 800-432-3231.
