This free program is sponsored by UNL Extension in the UNL's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Nebraska Soybean Board, Saunders County Soybean Growers Organization and private industry. Dr. Palle Pedersen, Iowa State University is the keynote speaker. Other presenters include UNL researchers and specialists, Nebraska Soybean Board representatives, soybean growers and private industry representatives. The expo opens with coffee, soy doughnuts and the opportunity to view equipment and exhibitor booths at 8:30 a.m. Speakers start at 9 a.m. Producers will also be able to visit with representatives from seed, herbicide, fertilizer and equipment companies and view new farm equipment during a 30-minute break at 10 a.m.

UNL Extension in Lancaster County, in conjunction with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, will conduct free lead screening of children’s toys and jewelry on Friday, December 14 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherrycreek Road. Parents may bring up to 5 toys per household to be tested for lead. There will be no charge to have toys tested. Everyone is welcome.
