The Southeast Nebraska Inventors, Investors and Entrepreneurs Club (I2E Club), will meet Tuesday, November 11 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Kimmel Education & Research Center in Nebraska City. The meeting will begin with a networking social, sponsored by UNL Kimmel Education & Research Center, at 5:30 PM. A guest speaker, “15 Minutes of Fame” segment and educational workshop will follow beginning at 6 PM.
Mr. Scott VanderVeen, CPA of VanderVeen & Goracke, LLC in Nebraska City will discuss different business entities as well as tax issues for start-up and existing entrepreneurs and small businesses. He will also share information about his business as well as his entrepreneurial insights. Additionally, Rachelle and Dan Emshoff, owners of Hickory Road BBQ in Auburn, will lead the "15 Minutes of Fame" segment. Emshoff’s will present information on their creative marketing strategies.
The evening will conclude with Stephanie Shrader of Business Services, Inc. in Nebraska City presenting the hands-on educational training session focused on how to determine and specify monthly and annual allocation for a Marketing Budget.
Anyone interested in exploring the idea of developing a product, starting their own business or expanding on current business skills, is invited to attend.
The Club is a collaborative effort by a regional group in Southeast Nebraska and has been made possible by funding from a Building Entrepreneurial Communities Act (BECA) grant which has now expired. In order to continue the I2E Club, a fee will be charged beginning in November. Participants may become a member and pay a small annual membership fee or attendees may pay $10 per session. |
