SUMMARY:SWAP Meet: Blackboard 8 is coming in January!
DESCRIPTION:The Gradebook has been transformed into the Gradecenter. Facul
ty will be able to enter scores more efficiently, select specific display
types, freeze names for easier scrolling, and drop lowest/highest scores
. The new grade center will also allow faculty to print progress reports
and access powerful analysis tools. With these improvements come many cha
nges to the Gradebook. The adoption of Web 2.0 technology in the new Grad
ecenter means it looks different than the current Gradebook, and faculty
will interact with it differently. If you use the Blackboard gradebook, y
ou will want to be present while Heath Tuttle and Leona Barratt demonstra
te some of these new features in the new Gradebook coming next semester.
You'll also be given resources for additional tutorials/training so that
you can be ready to use these new tools.

SUMMARY:Lewis and Clark and the Indian Country
DESCRIPTION:“Lewis and Clark and the Indian Country” tells the story o
f the explorers’ historic 1804–1806 expedition from a different point
of view—that of the Indians who lived along their route. During their
journey to the Pacific coast and back, Meriwether Lewis and William Clar
k and their small group of voyagers crossed the traditional homelands of
more than 50 Native American tribes. The exhibit examines this monumenta
l encounter of cultures and examines the past and present effects of that
encounter on the lives of the tribes which still live in the region. \n\
n“Lewis and Clark and the Indian Country” is composed of six sections
of panels of images and text drawn from original documents in the rich N
ative American collections of the Newberry Library, and in the collection
s of the Washington State Historical Society, the Minnesota Historical So
 ciety and other institutions.
