Time Event Title
6:00 pm-8:00 pmParents Forever/Kids Talk About Divorce Buffalo County Fairgrounds
Parents Forever is an educational program for families in divorce transition. Kids Talk About Divorce is an educational program for school-age children experiencing divorce. Programs are available throughout Nebraska to help meet the needs of divorcing families and children and meet the requirements of the New Parent Act as amended by LB 554 in 2007.
7:30 pmWind Ensemble KIMBALL RECITAL HALL
The Wind Ensemble will present a Japanese-inspired program on October 2 featuring works by American and Japanese composers. The concert will include the Nebraska premiere of Donald Grantham's "Court Music," Morton Lauridsen's "O Magnum Mysterium," Bernard Rogers "Three Japanese Dances," Yasuhide Ito's epic "Gloriosa," and Naohiro Iwai's "Yagi Bushi." Tickets: General admission $5, student/senior $3, available at the door approx. one hour before the performance.
7:30 pmTHE SANTALAND DIARIES TEMPLE BUILDING
The plot is built around the musings of a single character, played by Paul Steger, who begins the play by scoffing at a classified ad for seasonal employment as a Santaland Elf at Macy's. As his elfin alter ego, "Crumpet," he alternates between introspective ramblings, to over-the-top outbursts, to biting mean-spirited descriptions, with maybe just a crumb of holiday spirit thrown in. Not suitable for younger than 13.
