| Description: | News-editorial professor Joe Starita will talk about and sign copies of his book, "I Am a Man: Chief Standing Bear's Journey for Justice," at 2 p.m. Jan. 25 at the General Crook House Museum at Fort Omaha, 30th and Fort Streets. Reservations are requested by calling 402-455-9990. If need be, Starita will repeat his presentation at 3 p.m. The book was released Jan. 20 by St. Martin's Press. The book is the story of Standing Bear and Gen. George Crook overlooking the grounds where Standing Bear was sequestered during what became a landmark trial. Starita also wrote "The Dull Knifes of Pine Ridge." |
