Astronomy Day 2009

A day of fun and excitement for the whole family!

Description:

University of Nebraska State Museum and Mueller Planetarium will hold their annual Astronomy Day May 2. The museum will join forces with the Prairie Astronomy Club, Hyde Observatory, and the UNL Department of Physics and Astronomy to provide a day of fun and excitement for the whole family. This event is held in conjunction with the 2009 International Year of Astronomy, commemorating the 400th anniversary of Galileo's first use of the telescope. There will be exhibits and special demonstrations, including how to use a telescope, robotics, and other hands-on science activities. Fulldome Planetarium shows presented throughout the day. Additional Public Info: Admission to the NU State Museum is $5 for adults and $3 for children, high school and non-UNL college students. Children under 4 years and UNL faculty, staff and students are admitted free with ID. Planetarium show tickets will be sold in the Planetarium lobby, $3 for adults and $2.50 for children & high school students, $3 for UNL students, faculty, & staff
