The first annual Undergraduate Women in Physics Conference (WoPhy09) will bring together outstanding researchers from Oct.30-Nov.1, held at the Holdiay Inn and Champions Club, to attend scientific talks by invited physicists, participate in poster sessions, and interact with physics students from other universities.

On Saturday, October 31, Sheldon will have a free Dia de los Muertos Family Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Events include a morning performance by Lincoln High School theatre students and Fiesta Mexicana of the Heartland, and afternoon art making and music by The Lincoln Harp Duo and Mariachi Luna y Sol. Mexican breads, chocolate and other traditional foods will be available.
This celebration has been made possible through coordination by the Sheldon Art Association and a community advisory committee. Organizations providing funding and support include Southeast Community College, BlueCross BlueShield of Nebraska, Lincoln Benefit Life, Lincoln Public Schools, the Nebraska Arts Council, the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Haydon Art Center, and Lincoln businesses.
The Temple ghosts are out in full force when the third floor is transformed into a chamber of horrors. The only haunted house on campus.
Must be 12 or older to be admitted.
