This presentation will examine the importance of student financial aid in addressing significant financial barriers that limit access to college for academically prepared high school graduates from low and low-middle income families. We'll also discuss how college access and success varies by socioeconomic status, discuss the student loan to grant imbalance, and look at recent state and federal legislative initiatives that may impact college access. You are invited to attend this program sponsored by the Diversity Working Group on Tuesday, March 31st from 12 - 1 pm in the Nebraska Union (room TBA). Craig Munier, Director of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, will be leading the session. The program is open to all members of the campus community, including students, staff, and faculty. You are welcome to bring your lunch.
Questions about the program or Diversity Working Group may be directed to Dr. Kelli K. Smith at ksmith4@unl.unl.edu or Craig Lennon at clennon2@unl.edu.
