The International Quilt Study Center & Museum holds its fourth biennial symposium on April 2-4, 2009 at the Holiday Inn, Lincoln, Nebraska.

The UHC Student Advisory Board, Health Education Department, Campus Red Cross, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Health Club, & Omicron Delta Kappa sponsors the "Fill the Fountain Food Drive". Bring non-perishable food items to the Nebraska Union to help halt hunger & support the Lincoln Food Bank.
10:00 am-4:30 pmNebraska Young Artist Awards SHELDON MUSEUM of ART
The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts recognizes talented high school juniors from across the state. The welcome begins at 10 a.m. in the Nebraska Union. The Awards Ceremony is at 3:30 p.m. in Sheldon Museum of Art's auditorium.
6:00 pmAsian/Pacific American Heritage Celebration NEBRASKA UNION
The Office of Academic Support and Intercultural Services and the student organization, Asian World Alliance, invite you for our annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Celebration. On Thursday, April 2, 2009 starting at 6:00 p.m. (door open at 5:30 p.m.) in the Nebraska Union Centennial Room a Celebration of Asian Culture entitled Changing Cultures and Preserving Asian Traditions in the Midwest will take place. This event will feature a cultural performance by The Lion Dancers and special presentation by Laotian poet Bryan Thao Worra. This event is FREE and OPEN to the public.

Doors open at 6:00 PM with reception following. Admission: $10 for museum members, $15 for non-members.
7:00 pmMueller Planetarium’s New Fulldome Show "In Search of Our Cosmic Origins" MORRILL HALL
Starting April 2, the new fulldome show "In Search of our Cosmic Origins" will be shown at Mueller Planetarium Thursdays at 7 p.m. Go on a journey through distant galaxies and the Chilean desert to discover how astronomers are continuing Galileo’s quest to understand our place in the Cosmos with the spectacular ALMA project. Running time is 30 minutes.

Music composition students will present their original compositions in a concert in Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets: General admission $5, student/senior $3, available at the door approx. one hour before the performance.
