Family fun with astronomers, and hands on activities. There will be displays of telescopes, computer astronomy and astronomical photos by members of the Prairie Astronomy Club. Fulldome show will be playing at 11 a.m., noon, 1, 2, and 3pm. The museum is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 14th & U Sts. UNL Faculty, staff and students get in free with their N card, planetarium shows are $3.
University of Nebraska State Museum and Mueller Planetarium will hold their annual Astronomy Day May 2. The museum will join forces with the Prairie Astronomy Club, Hyde Observatory, and the UNL Department of Physics and Astronomy to provide a day of fun and excitement for the whole family.
This event is held in conjunction with the 2009 International Year of Astronomy, commemorating the 400th anniversary of Galileo's first use of the telescope. There will be exhibits and special demonstrations, including how to use a telescope, robotics, and other hands-on science activities. Fulldome Planetarium shows presented throughout the day.
