The "Faculty Sampler" concert will spotlight select faculty artists on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.
Select members of the School of Music faculty will appear in concert at the UNL Faculty Showcase Concert, Sunday September 13 at 7:30 pm in Kimball Recital Hall.
The audience will be treated to a Greek Orthodox hymn, Potirion Sotiriu by Victoria Bond performed by Co-chair of the Piano Area Paul Barnes. Pianist Ann Chang-Barnes will perform Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 2, No. 1. For the fans of Bach, mezzo-soprano Kate Butler will be joined by Karen Becker, cello, William McMullen, oboe, and Christopher Marks, organ, in a performance of two Bach arias, Gott ist unser Sonn’ und Schild (BWV 79) and Leg ich mich späte nieder (BWV 97). If you prefer the works of Robert Muczynski, the Moran Woodwind Quintet will oblige as they present Quintet for Winds, Op. 45 (1985). Mark your calendars now. You won’t want to miss this!
