The Midwest Cup Show Choir Invitational Competition is Saturday, January 16 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. The competition will feature 18 groups representing Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, and Illinois. Groups are allotted 25 minutes to perform their prepared show on the Lied stage. These shows will be judged by an expert panel of judges and the top six scoring groups of the day will advance to the night round. The evening will conclude by crowning the 2010 Midwest Cup champions! UNL’s own collegiate show choir, “The Big Red Singers,” will also perform an hour-long show at 5:00 pm prior to the awards ceremony.
These choirs will be bringing various styles in music, choreography and costuming. It will be a day of entertainment and celebrating these talented students and this exciting musical style.
