As a part of the Tuesday Nights at Sheldon: A School of Music Performance Series, Jazz Ensembles I and II will present a concert featuring the music of composer, educator, and saxophonist Dan Gailey, in Sheldon Museum of Art in the Ethel S. Abbott Auditorium.
Dan Gailey, saxophonist/composer/arranger, is the director of Jazz Studies and Professor of Music and Dance at the University of Kansas, where he directs Jazz Ensemble I and Jazz Combo I; produces the annual KU Jazz Festival, now in its 27th year; and is the founder and producer of the annual KU Jazz Workshop, a week-long summer institute for high school students and teachers now in its 11th year.
