Interest in raising meat goats has gained momentum with the increasing demand for goat meat in the United States. UNL Extension is sponsoring the 2nd annual Eastern Nebraska Meat Goat Workshop to assist those currently involved in goat production and others interested in learning about raising meat goats.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, February 6 at UNL’s Agricultural Research & Development Center near Mead, Nebraska at the August. N. Christenson Research & Education Building.

Randy Saner, UNL Extension Educator in Lincoln/McPherson Counties, will present parasite management and FAMACHA training.  Brian Faris, Extension Sheep and Meat Goat Specialist from Kansas State University will also present some very valuable information.
