Anthony Falcone conducts the Symphonic Band in a concert as part of the NSBA Spring Convention on the UNL Campus. Faculty artists, University of Nebraska Brass Quintet will join the Symphonic Band and faculty artist, Dr. William Shomos will narrate. Free and open to the public.
1:30 pm-2:45 pmCommunity Connections NEBRASKA UNION
The roundtable will feature graduates of UNL's Women's and Gender Studies Program who now work with community agencies and advocacy groups in Lincoln and the surrounding area. Klezmer clarinet virtuoso David Krakauer collaborates with long-time James Brown trombonist Fred Wesley and beat architect Socalled for an all-out klezmer-funk dance party! While firmly rooted in traditional klezmer folk tunes, the band "hurls the tradition of klezmer music into the rock era" (The New York Times).
