SUMMARY:UNL Hosts International Clarinet Association's ClarinetFest
DESCRIPTION:The School of Music welcomes over 1,200 clarinetists and clari
 net enthusiasts from across the globe will converge on Lincoln to partici
 pate and enjoy the International Clarinet Association’s  annual Clarine
 tFest on the UNL city campus, August 1-5.  \n\nThemed “Heritage to Hori
 zon”, ClarinetFest offers a wide array of performances, lectures, prese
 ntations, master classes, competitions and special evening events featuri
 ng numerous clarinetists from around the world.  \n\nFeatured evening per
 formers include world-renowned klezmer artist David Krakauer, clarinetist
 s from major symphony orchestras (including Ricardo Morales – Philadelp
 hia Orchestra; Gregory Smith – Chicago Symphony; Jessica Phillips Riesk
 e – Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; Eddy Vanoosthuyse – Brussels Philha
 rmonic); Italian virtuosi Corrado Giuffredi and Antonio Tinelli; bass cla
 rinetist extraordinaire Michael Lowenstern; American virtuoso Alexander F
 iterstein; jazz clarinetist Allan Vaché; and clarinetists from the Washi
 ngton, D.C. “premiere bands”. Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra will be 
 featured on the Saturday evening concert with clarinet soloists.\n\nA Com
 munity Admission badge is available for admittance to daytime performance
 s and lectures conducted on August 1-4th at the price of $30/day to local
  citizens (ID required). These badges may be acquired at the registration
  area in the Embassy Suites in the main lobby. Badge does not include adm
 ission to the exhibit hall or the evening events in the Lied Center. All 
 Sunday events are FREE to the public.\n\nEvening concerts in the Lied Cen
 ter for the Performing Arts are open to the general public. Tickets are $
 20 Adults/$10 Students for performances on August 1-2 and 4 (Ticket price
 s include two concerts/evening for one low price). Friday evening’s con
 certs are FREE. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the Lied C

 l available.\n\nDiane Barger, UNL’s Hixson-Lied Professor of Clarinet,
