Rick Darke, author of The Wild Garden, will speak on “The Layered Landscape,” focussing on a global approach to landscape design and stewardship. Darke’s work has been featured in The New York Times, Garden Design, Gardens Illustrated and on National Public Radio. He is the author and photographer of many books, including The American Woodland Garden, The Encyclopedia of Grasses for Livable Landscapes and The Wild Garden.
Darke is the featured speaker of the 2012 Joseph & Dorothy Young Memorial Lectures in Horticulture at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23 at the Hardin Hall Auditorium, located on the East Campus of UNL. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for arboretum members, $14 for general public and free to UNL students with valid I.D. Space is limited. Tickets can be purchased in advance, online at arboretum.unl.edu/tickets or by calling the arboretum office at 402/472-2971.
