This exhibition showcases the broad scope of geometric abstraction artwork in Sheldon’s collection. The works in “The Geometric Unconscious” span a period of more than 100 years and prompted a rethinking of geometric abstraction with a special interest in the unconscious that feeds this kind of modern art.

Included in “The Geometric Unconscious” is Dan Flavin’s “Untitled.” It is made up of red and yellow horizontal fluorescent lights and will be given a space all its own in the Focus Gallery.

Support for “The Geometric Unconscious: A Century of Abstraction” was provided by the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment and the Hixson-Lied Endowment.
