SUMMARY:Composting Demonstration - Lincoln, NE
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to be successful with composting by attending a comp
osting demonstration sponsored by University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extens
ion in Lancaster County and the City of Lincoln Recycling Office. \n\nThe
se demonstrations will show you how to be successful with backyard compos
ting. You will see three types of composting bins and how to use them. Ev
ery family will receive a composting thermometer. \n\nComposting converts
grass clippings, fallen leaves and other landscape leftovers into a nutr
itious soil amendment. It recycles plant nutrients, improves the soil's s
tructure, improves drainage in clay soil and increases the water-holding
capacity of sandy soil. And there's nothing difficult or complicated abou
 t making it.
