| 12:00 pm-4:00 pm | Día de los Muertos SHELDON MUSEUM of ARTSheldon celebrates its sixth annual Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead celebration. The event is free and open to the public. Entertainment for the afternoon includes music by Los Villanos, the play Los Zapatos Mágicos/Pedro’s Magic Shoes by Ric Averill, performed by students from the Lincoln High School Theater Department, and folkloric dance by Sangre Azteca. Additionally, there will be a community ofrenda, art-making stations, traditional foods, and a silent auction.
The event is a collaboration of the Sheldon Museum of Art, Sheldon Art Association, Día de los Muertos Community Advisory Committee, Nebraska Latino American Commission, Lincoln Public Schools, and Mourning Hope with generous support from Southeast Community College, Ameritas, BlueCross BlueShield Nebraska, and Lincoln Benefit Life.

Sheldon celebra el sexto aniversario de su evento “Día de los Muertos”. El evento es gratis y todos están invitados.
Estará amenizado con la música de Los Villanos. La obra de teatro Los Zapatos Mágicos del dramaturgo Ric Averill será presentada por el teatro de la preparatoria de Lincoln High School. Se presentarán los bailes folclóricos de Sangre Azteca. Además, habrá un altar comunitario, puestos artísticos, comida tradicional, y una subasta silenciosa.

With your permission, your items will be photographed and included in a unique, online archive that will be available for free to the public. The goal is to create a resource to help others better understand the rich and diverse histories, cultures, and experiences of Lincoln's refugees. Two opportunities to share your items--Sunday, October 28th, 12-4pm at College View SDA Church, and Thursday, November 1st, 4pm-7pm at the Center for People in Need.
