Dr. Scott Moye-Rowley, Professor & Executive Associte Head, Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, University of Iowa will present “Regulation of the Yap1-dependent transcriptional response to oxidative stress in fungi”. Moye-Rowley studies the response of eukaryotic cells to drugs and environmental stress using yeast as a model organism. His laboratory also investigates these responses in pathogenic microbes such as Candida glabrata and Aspergillus fumigatus. His presentation will focus on the oxidant regulation of gene expression by the transcriptional regulatory protein Yap1 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
