We will explore the exhibitions "What's in a Name? Inscribed Quilts." The class will be based on the mid-1800s, using quilts in the exhibition and dolls (featuring the historical dolls Marie Grace and Cecil, from New Orleans in 1853). We'll talk about friendship, community service and appreciation of those who are different. The students will create Mardi Gras masks for themselves and their dolls and enjoy snacks and activities from the time period. The girls are encouraged to bring their favorite doll. Classes run from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. Cost is $12 each for members, $15 for non-members, plus a $5 materials fee payable to instructor at class. To register, call 402-472-6549.
