9:00 am-11:00 amFlu Shot Clinics UNIVERSITY HEALTH CENTER
The University Health Center offers walk-in flu shot clinics - no appointments required. Flu shots are free for UNL students paying UPFF facility fees and $30 for faculty and staff. The UHC will file Blue Cross Blue Shield claims for faculty and staff members under the wellness benefit. You must have your insurance card at the time of vaccination in order to file a Blue Cross Blue Shield claim only. If you have used up your wellness benefit for the 2012 coverage period, you will be sent a bill from the UHC. The clinics will be held from 11:30am to 1pm on the following dates at:

Dec. 3: Harper Schramm Smith Dining Hall
Dec. 4: Abel/Sandoz Dining Hall
Dec. 5: East Campus Union
Dec. 6: Nebraska Union - Wellness Booth

Forms are available on-line for you to fill out prior to coming to one of the flu shot clinics to speed up the process. If you are unable to make one of the clinics, you can make an appointment at 402-472-5000.

Come to find out more information about the UNL Tax Credit Campaign. The information meetings will give you all the information you need to know about the campaign, how to volunteer, and will answer any questions you have. Volunteer positions for the campaign are greeters, interpreters, tax preparers, and childcare providers. Volunteer to help return money to lower income families of Lincoln.

The meeting will be held in the Center for Civic Engagement.

3:00 pm-7:00 pmASUN Nebraska Sustainability Roundtable City Campus Union
ASUN Environmental Sustainability Committee is hosting the second annual Nebraska Sustainability Roundtable. A unique public discussion with a robust goal, we are excited to help expand and strengthen Nebraska’s existing sustainability initiatives. Faculty, students, and industry experts will be in attendance, providing the opportunity to discuss and network.

The conference’s structure consists of four groups, each with a topic of interest [energy, food/agriculture, water, campus] and a recorder logging the discussion. Groups will rotate every forty-five minutes with a selection of pertinent covered topics during wrap-up. Along with being sent to the Chancellor’s Commission on Environmental Sustainability, these pertinent topics will also serve as guidelines for the sustainability master plan for UNL.

Dr. Sean Crosson, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Chicago, will present "A multi-scale analysis of bacterial signal transduction" on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. I direct an interdisciplinary laboratory that is focused on understanding regulatory mechanisms that control bacterial cell physiology and virulence. Our studies center on the model system Caulobacter crescentus and the related human pathogen Brucella abortus, which is the causative agent of the global zoonotic disease known as brucellosis.

Patti Solis Doyle served as campaign manager for Hillary Clinton for President. Patti was the first Hispanic woman to lead a presidential effort in the United States – working hard in a business where it is rare for females to lead major campaigns, and where minorities in key positions are even harder to find.

Hear Patti discuss how the fight for social justice continues. This event is free and open to the public.
