It has been one of the best-loved annual student events that allow people to share their reading and translation of poetry in Russian. The event is modeled after famous Russian poetry evenings, where many 20th and 21st century artists from Mayakovskii to Voznessenskii and Grishkovetz made their names.
10:30 am"The Future of Higher Education" Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center
Thursday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 AM in Room 212 in the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, one of the country's leading experts on strategic planning in higher education, Michael Dolence, will be making a presentation entitled, "The Future of Higher Education" The presentation is open to the public.

Michael Dolence is perhaps best known for his continued innovation in developing effective and efficient planning and management processes for higher education. He is the architect and developer of the curriculum-centered strategic planning model, the learner-centered curriculum framework, and the curriculum-centered enrollment management model. His pioneering work on the development of his "Strategic Decision Engine," culminated in the book “Working Toward Strategic Change.”

As a consultant, Mr. Dolence has worked with numerous institutions of higher education nationally to develop campus-wide strategic planning processes and strategic enrollment management programs with a special emphasis upon crisis avoidance and crisis intervention. His counsel is sought on strategies to respond to state and federal initiatives as-well-as repositioning institutions for competitiveness. He has also worked with information system vendors in the development of state-of-the-art strategic enrollment and instructional management systems.

7:00 pm-9:00 pmNut Orchard Planning, Planting, Care and Harvesting Seminar Lancaster Extension Education Center
If you want to plant just a couple nut trees or an orchard, you will find this seminar informative.

Everyone has different expectations and goals when planting nut tree seedlings. This seminar will introduce you to most aspects of what it takes to accomplish your goals and expectations. There will be professional growers on hand to answer your questions.

Topics include:
• Planning phase will cover setting realistic goals, understanding an orchard environment, and the tasks to meet your goals so you will be successful.
• Planting phase will cover planting consideration and seedling selections.
• Caring phase will cover tasks required to bring a seedling to a productive, producing nut tree.
• Harvesting tasks will cover harvesting techniques, processing, and marketing your nuts.
• A seedling cost-share program will also be introduced.

The Annual Russian Culture Night – Maslenitsa is another hallmark of the Club, traditionally featuring Russian music, food, dancing, and intellectual diversions – quizzes and games with themes from Russian history and culture. Come and share a night of entertainment and learn more about Russian culture. You will dance to Russian rock and some traditional folk tunes. The tickets cost $2, and can be ordered at 218-255-4913,402- 472-1336,or at the door.
7:30 pmThe Three Musketeers TEMPLE BUILDING
Love, heroism, and adventure abound in this fast-paced and witty adaptation of the timeless swashbuckling tale by Alexandre Dumas. Spectacular fight choreography will keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow the adventures of d’Artagnan, a young Frenchman who joins forces with the famous musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. These heroes, along with d’Artagnan’s sister Sabine, must bravely confront treacherous and vengeful villains to defend the honor of the Queen of France.

Show runs Feb. 23-25, 29 and March 1-3 at 7:30 pm in UNL's Howell Theatre at 12th and R Streets. Tickets can be purchased online at unltheatretickets.com or by calling the Lied Center Ticket Office at 402-472-4747.

Ticket prices are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors 62+, and $10 for students with ID. A group rate of $5 each for groups of 10 or more is available through the Lied Center Ticket Office.

University Theatre presents Ken Ludwig's adaptation of "Three Musketeers," a tale of revenge, duels and defending honor. Who will ultimately save the day?

Performances are Feb. 23-25 and 29 and March 1-3 at 7:30 p.m. in Howell Theatre.

Season Passes
$50 regular; $40 faculty/staff and senior citizen
Each pass allows the pass-holder FOUR (4) admissions to any University Theatre production. Passes are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Passes must be presented at the Ticket Office to redeem for tickets to specific performances. RESERVATIONS ARE RECOMMENDED for performances.
