Jazz in June has become more than just a tradition. It’s a summer standard. The free Tuesday evening series is one of Lincoln’s summer delights. Enjoy the Jazz in June Market at 12th & R Streets, then stroll onto the University of Nebraska–Lincoln campus to listen to great jazz.

Angela Hagenbach will bring her acclaimed musical interpretation and sultry voice to the Sheldon sculpture garden on June 18 for the third week of Jazz in June.

Hagenbach’s voice moves easily between musical genres and excels in her interpretations of jazz standards and Latin jazz. She’s toured Switzerland with Clark Terry and worked and recorded with Jimmy Heath, Russell Malone, Frank Foster’s Big Band, Tamir Hendelman and others. She has graced the stages of numerous festivals, concert halls and performance venues around the world and was twice chosen by the State Department to represent the United States as a cultural jazz ambassador during the Clinton administration. Both world tours kicked off at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and progressed through seventeen countries.

Widely known as a masterful interpreter of other composer’s works, Hagenbach is also an accomplished songwriter in her own right. Two of her compositions are featured in the film “Last Will” for which she was also cast as a wedding singer. She works as a print model and voice artist, performing commercials and jingles for radio and television, in addition to regular club date appearances.

Hagenbach’s band consists of Danny Embrey, Roger Wilder, Zack Beeson, Gary Helm, and Doug Auwarter.
