Native American textiles artist Gwen Westerman will be creating a unique piece of art in the lobby of the Great Plains Art Museum as part of our annual Rubendall Artist in Residence program.

Though Westerman is slated to work on her piece Sept. 1-5, there are several tours, groups, and classroom sessions scheduled. She’ll be working on her piece in the lobby on Sept. 1: 2-5 p.m.; Sept. 2: 10-11:30 a.m.; Sept. 3: 10 a.m.-noon, 2-5 p.m.; Sept. 4: 1-3 p.m.; and Sept. 5: 2-4 p.m. If you would like to schedule a school or group tour, please call 402-472-6220).

Westerman will return Nov. 11-14 to continue the piece. Westermans work will be on display in the lower-level gallery from Sept. 1, 2015-Jan. 30, 2016. Admission is always free.
