Engineering Our Future during AppleJack 2016
Kimmel Education and Research Center is focused on engineering our future during this year’s AppleJack Festival in Nebraska City to be held on September 17 – 18. The Nebraska extension educators and staff will host a variety of free and educational activities during the two-day celebration.

Encouraging young minds to “engineer our future” will be featured during AppleJack this year. Learn about agriculture products in your every day life through our new activity, “Ag Grows My Stuff”! Jump into science and use a microscope to see more. Touch and see where your food comes from. Try out a new app to help you find, select and prepare fruits and vegetables. Farm and grow by playing the C6 BioFarm Game. Enjoy hands-on fun with Buildings, Bridges & Boats. Hunt and find hidden objects with Geocaching Bingo. Explore opportunities to become a 4-H True Leader.

For a tasty treat, the UNL Food Science & Technology Club will be selling UNL Dairy Store ice cream in their mobile trailer.

The UNL Kimmel Education and Research Center represents a unique public-private partnership between the Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard Educational Foundation, Inc. and the University of Nebraska. It is located at 5985 G Road, Nebraska City, Nebraska, next to the historic Apple Barn at Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard, northwest of Nebraska City.

Join the Kimmel team in engineering our future during this 2016 AppleJack event. Let’s creatively grow together with free family fun and educational activities.
