Jenny Dubnau is a painter who creates portraits using photographs as references. The paintings attempt to explore the intersection between photography and the realist tradition in portraiture. Since 2009, she has been an artist in residence at Anderson Ranch and an adjunct professor at Adelphi University. She is recipient of many significant grants including a Joan Mitchell Foundation grant, a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and a Pollock-Krasner Grant, and she is a graduate of Yale University’s MFA program.
