The Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series presents art activist, promoter, poet, publisher and teacher; Yasser Musa.

Yasser Musa creates multimedia art addressing contemporary social and political issues. His work has been exhibited at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Kaoshiung Museum of Art (Tiawan,) Art Museum of the Americas (Washington D.C.,) Contemporary Design Museum (Costa Rica,) La Capella (BCN Spain,) 8th Havana Biennial (Cuba,) Tijuana Biennial (Mexico) among other international venues.

In 1995 Yasser founded the Image Factory Art Foundation, an artist based institution dedicated to the documentation, promotion, publication, and exhibition of art and culture in Belize. It has since exhibited numerous Latin American artists and published over 20 books. The foundation continues to be Belize’s main portal to contemporary art and continues to focus on fostering art and culture among the youth of Belize.
