“Many Roles of Lipid Kinases in Organizing Trafficking-The Curious case of Pl4Ks” will be presented by Dr. Marko Jovic, adjunct professor, University of the District of Columbia.

My research focuses on mechanisms of phosphoinositide regulation at a subcellular level. Driven by novel imaging and genetic approaches designed in our lab, we were able to detect and manipulate minute pools of phospholipids on specific organelles. These findings were critical in furthering our understanding of individual contributions of various phosphoinositide species in vesicular sorting and fusion, as well as various pathologies such as lysosomal storage disorders.
