“Compartmentalized Redox Signaling during Hperoxic Lung Injury” will be presented by Peter F. Vitiello, associate scientist, Children’s Health Research Center, Sanford Research, Sioux Falls, SD on January 27 at 4:00 PM in N172 Beadle.

Dr. Peter Vitiello has research interests in cell signaling pathways during oxidative injury within the context of mammalian adaptations in response to environmental stimuli critical in promoting tissue development or disease pathologies. Specifically, his lab identifies and investigates the molecular role of dithiol/disulfide redox nodes in atmospheric oxygen sensing and postnatal programming of alveologenesis. Dr. Vitiello’s work has direct disease relevance in premature newborns with arrested alveolar growth due to therapeutic administration of excess oxygen.
