“Metabolic control of mitochondrial dynamics” will be presented by David Chan, Professor of Biology, Division of Biology and Biological Engineering, California Institute of Technology.

The Chan lab studies the physiological functions and molecular basis of mitochondrial dynamics, with an emphasis on mitochondrial fusion and fission. We have extensively used mouse knockout technology to dissect the role of mitochondrial dynamics in development and human disease. In addition, we have complemented these animal and cellular studies with structural/biochemical analysis of the core machinery.
