“Theranostic Nanomedicine Platforms for Ovarian Cancer Treatment” will be presented by Dr. Oleh Taratula, assistant professor of pharmaceutics, College of Pharmacy, Oregon State University.

Oleh Taratula received his M.S. in chemistry from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ukraine in 2002 and his Ph.D. in chemistry from Rutgers, The State University in New Jersey. In 2008, he joined Dr. Tamara Minko’s group at Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University as a postdoctoral researcher to develop the targeted nanomedicine for cancer. Since 2011, he has been an assistant professor at the College of Pharmacy of Oregon State University. His research is focused on the development of nanomaterial-based multifunctional drug delivery systems capable of specific detection and eradication of cancer cells by novel combinatorial therapeutic modalities including gene therapy, phototherapy and hyperthermia.
