Prerequisite: CICL 101 or equivalent
CICL 102 is a sequential class to CICL 101. This class continues to follow concepts to teach Chinese to children in easy steps to help them establish a solid foundation of vocabulary and communication skills in order to develop and master Chinese language skills. Besides giving trainings in listening, speaking, and reading in Chinese, writing Chinese characters is added to this class. Upon finishing this class, students will be able to hold conversations about their family members, occupations and daily routines, and write some simple Chinese characters.
No Class: 9/1, 9/29, and 11/24

All dayCICL 301 Sec 001 -- Advanced Chinese I for Children (ages K-5th grade)--Omaha Peter Kiewit Institute
Prerequisite: CICL 202 or equivalent
CICL 301 is a sequential class to CICL 202. Students are instructed to improve their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in Chinese at a higher level. Students will be guided and encouraged to use Ping Ying and a Chinese dictionary to read more Chinese characters and children’s books. Upon finishing this class, students will be more confident in communicating with others in Chinese. Conversational Chinese will still be focused on daily life circumstances.

All dayCICM 303 Sec 002 -- Chinese Folk Dance for Children (ages 5-12)--Omaha Peter Kiewit Institute
Pre-requisite: none
CICM 303 is an introductory class of Chinese folk dance for children ages 5 - 12. Students will learn basic movements of Chinese folk dance through watching the instructor’s demonstrations and video plays. Most students will be able to perform a simple program of Chinese children folk dance at the end of the semester. A recital will be given by the students for their families and friends during the last day of class.
