Beef Satellite Short Course

Description:

UNL Extension's Beef Satellite Short Course will look at issues currently facing Nebraska’s beef producers. The Beef Short Course will present the latest research-based information on herd health and profitability.

The program will be held on the following Monday evenings, beginning at 7:00 p.m. CST, 6:00 p.m. MST at Albion , Beatrice, Blair, Broken Bow , Harrison, Kearney, Kimball, North Platte, O’Neill, Ord, Oshkosh, Rushville, UNL Agricultural Research & Development Center August. N. Christenson Research & Education Building Near Mead, Valentine, West Point, and York. Please check with your local extension office for more details.

* December 8, 2008 - COOL for the Beef Producer. Darrell Mark, UNL Livestock Marketing Specialist, and a Nebraska Cattlemen representative

* December 15, 2008 - Beef Cow Herd Biosecurity and Trich Management Considerations. Richard Randle, Extension Beef Cattle Veterinarian

* January 12, 2009 - Recessive Genes in Beef Cattle Production. Matt Spangler, UNL Beef Specialist

* January 19, 2009 - Production Tips to Increase Profit Potential in the Cow/Calf Enterprise. Rick Rasby, UNL Beef Specialist
