SUMMARY:UNL Extension Mid-Plains Beef Educational Series
DESCRIPTION:University of Nebraska–Lincoln  Extension Mid-Plains BEEF Ed
 ucational Series begins in June  at the UNL Agricultural Research and Dev
 elopment Center (ARDC) near Mead,  Nebraska.  The Mid-Plains BEEF  Educat
 ional Series is an effort by a team of southeastern Nebraska Extension  E
 ducators.  Instruction will draw on the  expertise of extension educators
  and specialists from across the state of  Nebraska to share their beef c
 attle expertise with participants. \nThe  program, designed for producers
 , veterinarians, college students, or persons  involved in the beef indus
 try, will help participants learn more about the  systems approach to bee
 f cattle production through these multi-session,  hands-on learning exper
 iences in beef production, economics and forage  management.\nThe  Mid-Pl
 ains BEEF Educational Series is a multi-session program.  It begins June 
 13, 2012 and continues  Nov. 29, 2012 and Jan. 31, 2013.   Participants m
 ay choose to attend one or all three session. All sessions will provide h

SUMMARY:Weather Camp
DESCRIPTION:What is Weather Camp?\nWeather Camp is a week-long day camp fo
 r students who are ages 11-14 at the time of the camps. The camp will tak
 e place Monday June 11, 2012 - Friday June 15, 2012 and will run from 9am
  - 5pm each day. On Friday June 15, 2012, in the evening, we will have a 
 picnic for our campers and their families followed by a program in Hardin
  Hall where awards will be given and campers will be able to showcase the
 ir activities from the weather camp week. During the week, campers will g
 et to use instruments to make their own weather observations, meet foreca
 sters at the National Weather Service, learn about the local weather of N
 ebraska from tornadoes to blizzards, visit the office of Emergency Manage
 ment, learn about storm preparedness, learn about weather and climate rel
 ated careers, and visit a TV weather studio to watch the news and weather
  live in the studio.\n\nWhere is Weather Camp?\nMost events at Weather Ca
 mp 2012 will take place at Hardin Hall, which is located on the East Camp
 us at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Hardin Hall is located at the i
 ntersection of 33rd and Holdrege Street. A few field trips are planned an
 d will require travel to local places. Permission to travel will be requi
 red and transportation will be provided for the campers.\n\nWeather Camp
