Early June brought the news Nebraska foresters and horticulturists have been anticipating for several years—confirmation of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) within the state.

Three seminars are scheduled this summer to help homeowners make good decisions about the care of their trees. Learn to identify ash trees; if you are unsure if a tree in your landscape is an ash, bring small branch samples or pictures for identification.

Presenters include Sarah Browning, Nebraska Extension Horticulture Educator; Jody Green, Nebraska Extension Entomology Educator; and Laurie Stepanek, Nebraska Forest Service, Forest Health Specialist.

Program dates and locations:
Lancaster Extension Education Center
• Wednesday July 27, 7-9 p.m.
• Saturday August 27, 9-11 a.m.
Nebraska Extension in Saunders County
• Thursday August 18, 7-9 p.m.

Registration is required. Call 402-441-7180. Cost $15.00 per person/couple for one set of education materials. Registration deadline: three days before each program. Pay at the door, making checks payable to Lancaster County Extension.
