What would happen if you could transport a Renaissance dancing master into the 21st century? And what would Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers sound like if they were wooing in the modern era? Join the wind ensemble as they overlay past and present in a program featuring Jacob’s classic “William Byrd Suite,” Hesketh’s new “Danceries, Set II,” Prokofiev’s dramatic suite from “Romeo and Juliet,” and Tchaikovsky’s zany “Dance of the Jesters.”

William Byrd Suite (1924) Gordon Jacob (1895-1984)
Danceries, Set II (2011) Kenneth Hesketh (b. 1968)
Suite from “Romeo and Juliet” (1935/1985) Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953)
Arr. Johan De Meij
Dance of the Jesters (1873/1997) Peter Tchaikovsky (1840-1893)
Arr. Ray Cramer
