Late Season Diagnostic Clinic Offered near Mead

A University of Nebraska-Lincoln Crop Management and Diagnostic Clinic Aug. 20 will provide a close-up look at late-season field conditions.

The UNL Extension clinic will be held at the Agricultural Research and Development Center near Mead. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the clinic starting at 8 a.m.

Program topics include: Alfalfa Management - Establishment, Diseases, Insects; Corn Diseases; Mobile Plant Diagnostic Clinic Lab – Diagnostics; Precision Agriculture and Nutrient Management Report Card; and Troublesome Weeds; and Troubleshooting Plant-to-Plant Variability in Corn.

Presenters include UNL extension educators, specialists and industry representatives.

Nine Certified Crop Adviser credits have been applied for and are pending for this clinic.

Cost for this clinic is $140 for those registering one week in advance and $190 after.

Programs are available throughout Nebraska to help meet the needs of divorcing families and children and meet the requirements of the New Parent Act as amended by LB 554 in 2007.

The primary focus is on working with producers and crop consultants to develop and demonstrate soil moisture monitoring equipment and irrigation scheduling strategies on farmer fields.
