Solution Days 2008 will provide practical solutions to the changing agricultural landscape. The annual educational event will be conducted Aug. 26 or 27 at the Syngenta Learning Center site, three miles north of York U.S. Highway 81.

Farm operators and professionals supporting corn and soybean production will gain realistic solutions for meeting the challenges of higher crop yields while keeping production costs economical. Each day, participants will hear and see the latest information from University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty and industry crop production and protection specialists.

Solution Days 2008 is sponsored by NK, Syngenta Crop Protection and the Nebraska Soybean Board, in partnership UNL Extension in the university's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The program is from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day with in-field presentations. Regisgtration begins at 9 a.m.

Presentations will include: corn-on-corn management, understanding corn and soybean traits, managing water for profit, and &quot;soybeans + 10&quot; - tips to increase yields and profitability by 10 percent. In addition, the food end of technology will be covered during the lunch break.

Parents Forever is an educational program for families in divorce transition. Kids Talk About Divorce is an educational program for school-age children experiencing divorce. Programs are available throughout Nebraska to help meet the needs of divorcing families and children and meet the requirements of the New Parent Act as amended by LB 554 in 2007.

"The Irrigation Strate¬¬gies Field Tour Series focuses on showing farmers and crop consultants management strategies to conserve water. The primary focus is on working with producers and crop consultants to develop and demonstrate soil moisture monitoring equipment and irrigation scheduling strategies on farmer fields.
6:30 pmUNL Extension Guardian/Conservator Training - Beatrice, NE Gage County Extension Office
Fulfills Guardian/Conservator education requirements set by the Nebraska Probate Code. Classes are approved by Nebraska Supreme Court. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension offers quarterly Guardian/Conservator education classes in all Judicial Districts other than Douglas County*. Monthly classes are offered in Lancaster County. This class provides participants with detailed information in serving as Guardian or Conservator for others. Most classes are co-taught by a volunteer attorney through the Nebraska State Bar Association who answers general legal questions. Please call local contact person at least two days ahead of date of training. Registration fee is $15 cash/check payable to University of Nebraska-Lincoln at the class.
