All daySoybean Management Field Days Upland, NE

Soybean Management Field Days offer producers unbiased and research-based information to improve their soybean profitability. The event consists of four field stops across the state, each with demonstration plots, lunch and time for questions. Producers can obtain ideas and insight about the challenges they face in producing a quality crop at a profitable price in today's global economy.

The field days are sponsored by the Nebraska Soybean Board in partnership with Extension in the University’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources and are funded through checkoff dollars.

2009 locations and dates include:

  • Tuesday, August 11 - Cappel Farms - McCook, NE
  • Wednesday, August 12 - Doug Boldt Farm - Upland, NE
  • Thursday, August 13 - Doug Wrede Farm - Greeley, NE
  • Friday, August 14 - Mel and Matt Bailey Farm - Schuyler, NE

By participating in the Soybean Management Field Days, producers will see their checkoff dollars at work bringing leading technology and ideas to producers.

Topics include: Soybean Row Spacing, Plant Population, Planting Date and Water Management; Managing New and Emerging Disease, Insect and Weed Problems; Nutrient Management Issues for Soybean Production; and Making Crop Yield and Price Decisions.

Presenters include university specialists, educators and industry consultants. Agronomists, plant disease, and insect specialists will be available to address production-related questions. Participants can bring unknown crop problems for complimentary identification.

The field days begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m. Free registration is available the day of the event.

1:00 pmGuardianship / Consuervator Education - Lincoln County UNL West Central District Center
Fulfills Guardian/Conservator education requirements set by the Nebraska Probate Code. Classes are approved by Nebraska Supreme Court. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension offers quarterly Guardian/Conservator education classes in all Judicial Districts other than Douglas County*. Monthly classes are offered in Lancaster County. This class provides participants with detailed information in serving as Guardian or Conservator for others. Most classes are co-taught by a volunteer attorney through the Nebraska State Bar Association who answers general legal questions. Please call local contact person at least two days ahead of date of training. Registration fee is $15 cash/check payable to University of Nebraska-Lincoln at the class.
