The 2014 Manure Demonstration Day will be a smaller version of the North American Manure Expo, held in Norfolk, NE in 2011. The event will be similar, but will focus on the manure industry in the state of Nebraska rather than nationally. Participants can view vendors, demonstrations and will have opportunities to learn more about manure management and handling.

Co-Parenting for Successful Kids is an unbiased, research-based education class designed to help separating and divorcing parents cope with divorce and custody. Parents learn to answer the children's questions and keep their children safe and out of their conflict. Co-Parenting for Successful Kids strengthens communication skills that can improve interactions with children and the other parent.

National Food Entrepreneur Program Seminar

The University of Nebraska Food Processing Center is offering a one-day seminar for all individuals interested in exploring the idea of starting a food manufacturing business. Interested individuals should attend “Recipe to Reality” seminar, offered on May 16, 2014.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Registration deadline is May 2, 2014.

A brown bag series on all things green. The August presentation is on “Woody Plants that Take the Heat”. Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, is the sponsor of the series along with UNL Garden Friends and Friends of Maxwell Arboretum. The noon presentation will be repeated the same day at 6 p.m.

Event sponsors hope to bring together a community of on- and off-campus people who care about the environment. There will be time for discussion at each session and, when weather permits, time to walk through the campus landscape.

Future topics include “Community Crops and Organic Gardening” on September 4, and "Fall Color and Planting" on October 2.
