J Days is a weeklong celebration (April 13-17) dedicated to highlighting the accomplishments of journalism students, faculty and alumni. Each day SAB will provide free snacks and lunch from local participating restaurants between 11 a.m.-1 p.m., first come, first serve. Be looking for the SAB fridge in the first floor Freedom Forum (the open area with the big TV at the south end of the building .) Students are invited to participate in free festivities and themed days all throughout the week.

We want to know what you think. The global economic crisis continues to draw attention. The World Bank says the global economic crisis is hurting countries around the world. It's slowing investment, depressing export prices and slashing employment opportunities.
Please join us for a global videoconference to discuss your views on the the world economy. At 9:30, Thursday, April 16th we'll participate in an international town meeting with journalists, students and faculty from Gimlekollen University in Norway and the Kosovo Institute of Journalism and Communication. We'll discuss initiatives in the United States to jumpstart our sagging economy and global efforts to address the current world economic crisis
We'll meet in room 224 Andersen. The meeting will last one hour.

Internet strategist Joaquin Alvarado will speak about how Nebraska connects to the Next Generation Internet and possibilities for collaboration with Public Service Media.
Alvarado is the director of the San Francisco State University's Institute for Next Generation Internet (INGI) since its founding in 2005. INGI formed San Francisco's Digital Media Advisory Council and Digital Sister Cities initiative to connect communities around the world in efforts to stimulate economic development, innovation and diversity.
