5:00 pm Nov 17thPRSSA mentor meeting ANDERSEN HALL
2:00 pm Nov 19thCommunications Forum ANDERSEN HALL
Teresa Paulsen, Vice President for Corporate Communications, ConAgra Foods will be the guest speaker.

ConAgra's new branding strategy: "When the transformation at ConAgra Foods really began to take hold, we knew we needed a new image that reflected who we’d become as a company. But rather than rebrand ConAgra Foods based on what we wanted people to know, we chose to listen closely to what people wanted from us—and what they thought ConAgra Foods could truly be. Employees, customers and the financial community all weighed in. Their thoughts gave us a base of authenticity from which to work. And was the secret to our stakeholders not only accepting, but embracing, the new ConAgra Foods." — Teresa Paulsen

About the speaker: Teresa Paulsen, vice president, Corporate Communication, leads communication at ConAgra Foods, the Fortune 200 Company that makes popular consumer brands such as Healthy Choice, Chef Boyardee, Hunt’s tomatoes and Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn. Teresa has 20 years of experience in the communication field. In her current role, she has company-wide leadership for corporate reputation and internal and external communication, the ConAgra Foods Foundation and corporate affairs work, including corporate social responsibility. She’s accountable for communication effectiveness at ConAgra Foods, corporate branding, and public relations for the corporation, and she leads a team that works to ensure key stakeholder groups—customers, shareholders and employees—understand the transformation of ConAgra Foods and its growing presence in consumers lives. Most recently, Teresa led the strategy, development and execution of the new ConAgra Foods branding and identity.

Teresa began her communication career as a public information officer for the State of Nebraska and also held external and internal communication roles at Corporate Express before joining ConAgra Foods in 2003. At ConAgra Foods, Teresa’s first job was director of Communication for its Frozen Foods group, in which she handled media relations, product publicity and employee communication. In 2004, Teresa began enterprise-wide leadership for the newly formed ConAgra Foods Internal Communication department. In 2006, she was promoted to vice president, Corporate Communication.

Paulsen holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications, and a master’s degree in organizational communication from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
