This session is designed to showcase national award winners work and how those award winning programs can be replicated across the nation.
During this session, Water Celebration, the National Environmental Education Award winner will be featured.
The Water Celebration program has been offered for 24 years, in order for youth and teachers to better understand how to protect our environment and properly use our natural resources, including Nebraska’s most precious natural resource, water. Throughout the years Water Celebration has had over 8,690 participants! In 2013 alone, 470 fifth grade students and more than 80 teachers and adults attended from Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Otoe and Richardson Counties.
Water Celebration is a collaborative effort between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Nemaha Natural Resource District, Nebraska Forest Service and Falls City Public Schools.
