The School of Music welcomes over 1,200 clarinetists and clarinet enthusiasts from across the globe will converge on Lincoln to participate and enjoy the International Clarinet Association’s annual ClarinetFest on the UNL city campus, August 1-5.

Themed “Heritage to Horizon”, ClarinetFest offers a wide array of performances, lectures, presentations, master classes, competitions and special evening events featuring numerous clarinetists from around the world.

Featured evening performers include world-renowned klezmer artist David Krakauer, clarinetists from major symphony orchestras (including Ricardo Morales – Philadelphia Orchestra; Gregory Smith – Chicago Symphony; Jessica Phillips Rieske – Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; Eddy Vanoosthuyse – Brussels Philharmonic); Italian virtuosi Corrado Giuffredi and Antonio Tinelli; bass clarinetist extraordinaire Michael Lowenstern; American virtuoso Alexander Fiterstein; jazz clarinetist Allan Vaché; and clarinetists from the Washington, D.C. “premiere bands”. Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra will be featured on the Saturday evening concert with clarinet soloists.

A Community Admission badge is available for admittance to daytime performances and lectures conducted on August 1-4th at the price of $30/day to local citizens (ID required). These badges may be acquired at the registration area in the Embassy Suites in the main lobby. Badge does not include admission to the exhibit hall or the evening events in the Lied Center. All Sunday events are FREE to the public.

Evening concerts in the Lied Center for the Performing Arts are open to the general public. Tickets are $20 Adults/$10 Students for performances on August 1-2 and 4 (Ticket prices include two concerts/evening for one low price). Friday evening’s concerts are FREE. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the Lied Center Box Office (402) 472-4747 or (800) 432-3231 or at the door, if still available.
