Beef feedlot managers, owners, employees and supporting industry personnel will learn the latest in feedlot nutrition, health, and economics at the 2016 Beef Feedlot Roundtable.
University and industry representatives will speak on feedlot economics, the Veterinary Feed Directive, nutrition and management, and other timely topics for feedlot operators. Topics and presenters include:
• Silage: Yield Production, Feedlot Performance and Profit: A Paradigm Shift? (Galen Erickson, UNL Animal Science)
• Alpha-Amylase and Starch Digestion: New Technology (Matt Luebbe, UNL Panhandle Research and Extension Center)
• Beef Cattle Economics: Dynamic Industry, Current Trends and Outlook (Kate Brooks, UNL Agriculture Economics)
• Changes to Distillers and Impact on the Feedlot Industry (Dan Loy, Iowa State University)
• Veterinary Feed Directive: Current Trends and What Direction is Needed for My Operation? (Rob Eirich, Nebraska Extension BQA Director)
• Feedlot Water Quality and Quantity (Matt Luebbe, UNL Panhandle Research and Extension Center)
• UNL Feedlot Research Update (Galen Erickson, UNL Animal Science)
• Beef Industry Update (Doug Straight, Nebraska Beef Council)
• Optional BQA Training, 6:30 p.m. (Rob Eirich, UNL Extension, Nebraska BQA Director)

The Nebraska Beef Council will give an update on new beef products and sponsor refreshments.
Preregistration is available by phone, fax, e-mail or mail, and requested by Feb. 5. Cost is $20 for those who preregister, and will be accepted at the door. Cost for those who have not preregistered will be $30.
