UNL Extension and Nebraska Games and Parks have teamed up to provide youth with skills to enjoy and learn about the outdoors. Join us for this year’s “Outdoor Skills” CSA Day Camp at the State 4-H Camp at Halsey on Tuesday May 29th. The camp will begin at 10:00 a.m. CDT with sign-in, games, and flag ceremony with the Camp Counselors in training.
Then campers will take part in several activities to learn more about wildlife. Find out who’s a predator and who’s the prey and what their jobs are. Learn what real camouflage is, and what makes up a critter’s habitat. Design an insect and learn how to
identify wildlife. Plan and go on a hike, and make and read a map.
And we’ll enjoy the Nebraska State 4-H Camp facilities including lunch and snacks in the lodge, time at the archery range, and take a ride down the amazing zipline.
Cost for the Outdoor Skills Day Camp is $20 per camper. Pre-register by May 22 by calling the CSA Extension Office. We will send you a Nebraska 4-H Participant Permission and Health Form or you can download one at centralsandhills.unl.edu and bring it along with your $20 to camp. Camp will conclude around 3:30 pm CT.
